Stretch marks are skin changes resulting from the rupture of collagen and elastin fibres, generally associated with rapid skin stretching. They may appear at different stages of life, such as hormonal changes, accelerated growth, weight variations or pregnancy. Initially they present reddish or purplish colouration (recent stretch marks) and, over time, become whitish (old stretch marks).

Treatment aims to stimulate skin regeneration, improve texture and attenuate the contrast with the surrounding skin. The approach varies according to the type, depth and stage of the stretch marks.
It may involve microneedling, laser, radiofrequency, biostimulators or a combination of techniques, defined following medical assessment of the specific characteristics of the stretch marks and each patient's skin.

The recovery period varies according to the techniques used. In general, redness and local sensitivity may appear in the following days.
Techniques are selected according to the clinical profile and type of stretch marks. They may not be indicated during pregnancy, breastfeeding or in certain dermatological conditions. The indication is confirmed in a medical consultation.
